Lindsay C. Farrell, MBA, FACMPE, President and CEO

Ms. Farrell has dedicated her professional life to high-quality community-based care, efficient care delivery, and population health management to assure a more equitable health care system for us all. Home-grown at Open Door where she originally served as a volunteer, Ms. Farrell has also served as Open Door’s Director of Operations and Director of Development.

During Ms. Farrell’s tenure as President and CEO, Open Door has grown significantly and doubled the number of people served. Today, Open Door is accredited by the Joint Commission, recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home and has won the prestigious national Davies Award from HIMSS, the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.

Ms. Farrell is a member of the Board of Directors of MVP Health Plan in Schenectady, the Community Health Care Association of New York State, THINC, the Taconic Health Information Network and Community and the Health Center Controlled Network of New York. She is also a past Chair of the Westchester Women’s Agenda.

Ms. Farrell is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and received her Master’s in Business Administration from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. She has received the Sol Feinstein Community Service Award from St. Lawrence University, the Betsy Cooke Grassroots Advocacy Award from the National Association of Community Health Centers, and been named as one of Westchester County’s most influential residents by Westchester Magazine.

Daren Wu, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Wu is a board-certified family physician and the senior clinical leader at Open Door. As the Chief Medical Officer, he oversees the quality of clinical care and service delivery at all sites. In addition to his administrative duties and patient care, Dr. Wu enjoys teaching family medicine residents and students and is a founding faculty member of the Northwell-Phelps Family Medicine Residency program, based in Open Door’s Sleepy Hollow facility.

Dr. Wu is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in New York City. He completed his internship and residency in the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital of New York. He also serves on the boards of Northern Westchester Hospital and the American Heart Association. Additionally, he is a commissioned commander in the United States Navy Reserves and is the Senior Medical Officer for the New England Medical Reserves detachment based in New London, CT.

Naida Henriquez, DMD, Chief Dental Officer

Dr. Henriquez is a senior clinical leader and Director of Dental Services at all Open Door and School-Based Health Center sites. Dr. Henriquez ensures the provision of patient-centered care that optimizes the dental health of the patient population in the communities we serve.

She has been an integral leader of New York Medical College and Site Director of GPR Dental Residency Program from its inception as an Instructor of Dental Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine. Currently, she is the Site Director of NYMC/Phelps/Northwell Health, and Open Door clinical training sites at Port Chester, Brewster and Sleepy Hollow. She continues to provide effective leadership, support and clinically guided learning experiences to the dental residents, preceptors and staff.

Dr. Henriquez is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA, and received her BA from Herbert H. Lehman, CUNY.

Maria Mazzotta, CPA, Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Mazzotta, CPA has worked at the Open Door since 1992 having served as the organization’s senior accountant. Promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2003, Ms. Mazzotta has overseen outstanding growth and has had full responsibility for the financial management of the center including the development of the operating budget, monthly financial reports to management and the Board, internal controls, compliance and operating procedures, the annual audit, and cost and activity reports to government agencies. Prior to the Open Door, Ms. Mazzotta worked at Jeffrey T. Latman and Co. as an auditor. She received her BS in accounting from St. John’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Andrea Ruggiero

Andrea Beltran Ruggiero, MPA, Executive Vice President of Community Health

Ms. Ruggiero’s professional journey is marked by dedication, education, and leadership in public health and nonprofit management. Born in Ecuador, she began her career at Open Door in 2004 as an HIV Case Manager, where she provided crisis intervention and case management services to vulnerable populations. Her early work showcased her unwavering commitment to improving lives and addressing the needs of the most vulnerable.

In her current role, Ms. Ruggiero’s strategic approach has been instrumental in developing and maintaining integrated patient-focused care. She helped forge formal linkages with community partners and services to complement client needs. Through her efforts, Ms. Ruggiero ensures that Open Door’s most in-need clients receive comprehensive care and support.

Ms. Ruggiero graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Manhattanville College. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s in Public Administration from the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University, with a focus on Nonprofit Management. She earned a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School in 2014, and completed the Geiger Gibson Capstone Fellowship in Community Health Policy and Leadership.

Maryam Motabar, DDS, Vice President of Practice Administration

Dr. Motabar is a distinguished leader in healthcare administration, currently serving as the Vice President of Practice Administration at Open Door. In this pivotal role, she oversees operations spanning Medicine, Dentistry, the Call Center, and Facilities, demonstrating her versatile leadership abilities.

Originally from Iran, Dr. Motabar began her healthcare journey as a skilled Dentist. Her extensive experience in general dentistry, acquired through years of service in private practices and community health centers in Iran, uniquely prepared her for leadership roles at Open Door.

Starting as a dental supervisor, Dr. Motabar efficiently managed the dental department and laid the foundation for her rapid advancement. As the Senior Director of Practice Administration and Call Center, she played a crucial role in developing operational strategies that ensured broad access to high-quality care for Open Door’s diverse patient population.

Dr. Motabar continues to spearhead initiatives that uphold Open Door’s reputation for excellence in healthcare delivery. Her visionary leadership is instrumental in maintaining Open Door’s status as a leader in the healthcare landscape.

Outside of work, Dr. Motabar passionately advocates for healthcare accessibility and improved outcomes, particularly for patients dealing with organ failure. Her advocacy efforts reflect her deep commitment to effecting positive change both within and beyond Open Door.
